About this machine
What the SUPRA series makes
The Zemat SUPRA series is built for PVC stretch ceilings, also called French ceilings, where the seam between panels has to be straight and nearly invisible and the harpoon edge has to be welded cleanly. It also welds indoor and outdoor lighting fixtures, 3D decorative structures, advertising signs and billboards, protective clothing and reflective signage. SUPRA MAX is the bench machine; SUPRA PRO is a traveling-head welder for large-format work with a table up to 25 m.
Buyers call it a stretch ceiling welding machine, a French ceiling welder, or a harpoon welding machine. The IAW (Inverted Airplane Wing) tooling is what welds the harpoon edge.
SUPRA MAX and SUPRA PRO
SUPRA MAX is a bench welder with precision linear motion, a cork-coated table for delicate film and a backlit weld area for inspection. SUPRA PRO adds a traveling head on a work table up to 25 m, with laser guides, for continuous invisible-seam welds on large ceilings. Both can be converted to a banner or billboard welder with a wide weld electrode, and both handle PVC film and harpoon welding.
What high frequency welding can and cannot join
HF welding works on polar thermoplastics: PVC film and PVC and PU coated technical textiles. It does not weld non-polar plastics such as polypropylene (PP) or polyethylene (PE). Stretch ceiling film is PVC, which welds cleanly on the SUPRA.

The SUPRA series welds PVC stretch ceilings (French ceilings) with straight, practically invisible seams and welds the harpoon edge that clips into the perimeter track. It also makes lighting fixtures, 3D decorative structures, signage and, with a wide electrode, advertising banners.
SUPRA MAX is a bench welder for standard stretch ceiling work, with a cork table and backlit weld area. SUPRA PRO is a traveling-head welder with a work table up to 25 m and laser guides, for continuous invisible-seam welds on large-format ceilings.
A stretch ceiling clips into a perimeter track using a flexible harpoon edge welded to the film. Zemat welds that edge with patented IAW (Inverted Airplane Wing) tooling, which gives a clean, consistent harpoon weld. The same machine also makes the panel-to-panel invisible seam.
The SUPRA welds PVC film and PVC and PU coated technical textiles. Stretch ceiling film is PVC, which welds cleanly. As with all HF welding, it does not bond non-polar plastics such as polypropylene or polyethylene.
