What the CORNA high frequency welder makes

The Zemat CORNA is a high frequency (HF) welder for small, complex, three-dimensional welds in technical textiles. It makes inner and outer corners for membranes and tents, corner shapes for side and roof truck covers, caps for containment pools and oil booms, triangular fastenings and corners for tensile structures, reinforcements for water and fuel bags, and welded handles and grips. The column design of the head and footing reaches into corner geometry that a flat work table cannot.

What high frequency welding can and cannot join

HF welding works on polar thermoplastics: PVC, polyurethane (PU and TPU), PET and many coated technical fabrics, which is exactly what tents, covers, booms and bags are made from. It does not weld non-polar plastics such as polypropylene (PP) or polyethylene (PE), which do not heat under an HF field. If you are unsure whether your coated fabric welds, send Zemat a sample and they will test it.

The CORNA makes multilayer welds of up to 8 layers, which covers heavily reinforced corners and fastening points. It works on polar thermoplastics: PVC, polyurethane (PU and TPU) and PET, including coated technical fabrics. It does not weld non-polar plastics such as polypropylene or polyethylene. The FlexEL flexible electrode lets you move between 2-layer and 8-layer welds without changing tools.

Corners and 3D shapes are hard to weld on a flat table because the fabric has to fold and sit at an angle. The CORNA puts the welding head on a column over an open footing, so the part can wrap around and be welded from the right direction. That is what makes inner and outer corners, caps and triangular fastenings practical to produce in volume.

Yes. CORNA electrodes can be cut to custom shapes (rectangular, round, triangular or oval) to match the look of the finished weld. Zemat makes the tooling, and the FlexEL flexible electrode covers changeable-layer work. Send us your product drawings and we will scope the electrodes with the factory.

The CORNA uses a new-generation Hi-Q3 HF generator rated at 4 kW, sized for small, precise welds rather than large flat seams. It has a deliberately small footprint with good work ergonomics, a freestanding HMI control panel, and can be fitted with wheels so you can move it to where the work is.

The CORNA is made to CE regulations and tested according to ISO 17025, and Zemat runs its own ISO 17025 certified EMC laboratory with onsite EMC testing available for CE and UL standards. The Hi-Q3 generator is designed for minimum operator RF exposure, and safety comes from a protective fixed guard with an HF shielded and filtered work table, the ZTG AntiFlash ARC sensor with overload protection, the ZTG SafeDown anti-crush electrode system, a grid filter, safety switches and backflow HF emission protection.

Typical lead time is around 16 to 20 weeks: build and EMC testing at the Zemat factory in Poland, then sea freight and customs into India. Magnum Resources manages the import, customs clearance, delivery, installation and operator training at start-up. Spares, custom electrodes and technical support stay with the same Magnum contact after the machine is brought online.
