PE 3D Drainage Composite Production Line
Produce PE 3D drainage composites with non-woven facing in-house, from 2,500 to 6,000 mm wide, for highway and railway drainage, embankment stabilization, foundation waterproofing and soft ground reinforcement. The Tongjia composite line is supplied, installed and supported across India by Magnum Resources.
About this machine
What the Tongjia drainage composite line produces
The Tongjia PE 3D drainage composite production line makes a composite geonet by extruding the core structure from polyethylene plastic, with non-woven fabric automatically bonded to both sides in the same production run. The core has one thick vertical rib plus two diagonal ribs on the top and bottom surface, which creates multiple pathways for groundwater to flow away from buried structures. The non-woven fabric layers act as a filter, blocking fine soil particles from entering the drainage core while allowing water to pass through freely.
Buyers know this material by several names depending on the context. Drainage engineers and civil contractors call it a 3D drainage composite, composite geonet, drainage geocomposite, or geonet sandwich. Traders and manufacturers call it PE drainage composite, 3D geonet, non-woven faced geonet, or simply composite drainage mat. If you searched for any of those terms, this is the machine that makes it.
Built for manufacturers who want to make drainage composites in-house
This production line suits companies that want to produce and sell drainage composites rather than import finished panels: geosynthetics manufacturers adding drainage composites to an existing range, non-woven fabric processors who want to move into geo-textiles, and civil contractors or civil works suppliers who currently source finished composites from traders or distributors. The four model sizes give a clear range: the TJ-SWW90 and TJ-SWW135 for mid-scale production (2,500 to 3,000 mm width), and the TJ-SWW150 and TJ-SWW180 for larger footprints and higher throughput (4,000 to 6,000 mm).
Drainage composites vs stone/gravel and plain geonet
Drainage composites with integrated non-woven facing solve two problems that plain geonet and stone drainage cannot:
- Filter function without clogging: The non-woven facing blocks fine soil particles from entering the drainage core, which keeps the core's pore system open over decades instead of clogging with silt. Stone and gravel drainage paths become progressively blocked under load.
- Combined drainage and reinforcement: The ribbed core provides both rapid water discharge AND lateral earth reinforcement in the same layer, reducing the number of material types needed on a foundation or embankment project.
- Lightweight and fast to install: Composite panels are light, roll on-site and unfold into place quickly. Stone and gravel layers require heavy equipment, multiple passes and significant labour time.
- Stable under high load: The non-woven fabric keeps the drainage core from being crushed or distorted by settlement on soft ground, preserving water flow for the design life of the structure.
Industries that use drainage composites in India
Drainage composites made on this line serve India's civil, infrastructure and building construction sector:
- Highway and expressway construction: Pavement and subbase drainage layers under new road construction and highway widening projects.
- Railways and metro rail: Trackbed and embankment drainage under railway and metro projects.
- Building foundations: Sub-slab drainage and waterproofing under residential and commercial building foundations on wet or clay soil.
- Embankment and slope reinforcement: Drainage and lateral confinement on steep slopes, embankment faces and canalbanks.
- Soft ground improvement: Horizontal drainage and reinforcement layers on compressible soil to reduce settlement.
- Retaining structures and abutments: Drainage and reinforcement behind earth walls and bridge abutments.
- Dams and water control: Seepage control and stability layers in earth dams and water-retention structures.

A 3D drainage composite is a geosynthetic material with a three-dimensional plastic core bonded on both sides to non-woven fabric. The core has ribbed channels that allow water to flow laterally while the non-woven facing acts as a filter, blocking fine soil particles. This line makes the composite in one continuous process: the PE plastic is extruded into the ribbed core structure, and non-woven fabric is automatically bonded to the top and bottom surfaces as the core exits the die.
The TJ-SWW90 produces 2,500 mm width (capacity 200 kN/m, footprint 22×5×3.4 m), TJ-SWW135 produces 3,000 mm (260 kN/m, 27×6.5×5 m), TJ-SWW150 produces 4,000 mm (320 kN/m, 30×7×5.5 m), and TJ-SWW180 produces 6,000 mm (380 kN/m, 45×8×6 m). If you supply highway or rail projects needing wide rolls, start with the TJ-SWW150 or TJ-SWW180. For building foundations and smaller civil projects, the TJ-SWW90 or TJ-SWW135 is practical. Check your target markets and roll width demand when sizing.
This line suits geosynthetics manufacturers adding drainage composites to their product range, non-woven fabric processors who want to move into geo-textiles, and civil works suppliers or contractors who currently source finished composites from importers. It is aimed at companies that want to make and sell drainage composites, not at civil projects that use the finished product on site.
Plain geonet is just the ribbed core with no fabric facing. Drainage composite adds non-woven fabric to both sides, which acts as a filter to block fine soil particles from entering the drainage core. This keeps the pore system open for decades instead of gradually clogging with silt under load. Stone and gravel drainage are even heavier and require more labour. Composites are lighter, faster to install and preserve water flow for the design life.
The core is extruded from polyethylene (PE) plastic. The non-woven facing is fed into the bonding station as pre-made rolls of polypropylene or polyester non-woven fabric (thickness typically 200-400 gsm). Different non-woven fabrics can be bonded depending on the application requirement (filter fineness, tensile strength, chemical resistance). The finished composite is rot-resistant and stable when buried for decades.
Drainage composites from this line are used in highway and expressway construction, railway trackbed and embankment projects, building foundations, slope and embankment reinforcement, soft ground improvement, retaining structures, dams and water-control works. Any civil or infrastructure project that needs to manage groundwater, reduce settlement or reinforce soft soil uses some form of drainage composite.
Typical lead time is around 16 to 20 weeks: manufacture at the Tongjia plant in China, sea freight and customs clearance into India. Magnum Resources manages the full chain from that point, including import documentation, site installation with OEM-backed engineers, and operator training at start-up. Wear parts and technical support run through the same contact after the line is brought online.
This is a composite-only line. It automatically bonds non-woven fabric to both sides of the extruded core, which is the key feature. If you need to produce plain geonet (core only), you would require a different line configuration. Mention this requirement when you enquire so our engineers can advise on the right setup for your production goals.
