Miller Weldmaster PS400 Bag Closing Machine
Close filled bags by heat-welding the top, up to 35 bags a minute, with no thread, needles or glue. The Miller Weldmaster PS400 is a servo-controlled inline bag closer, built in the USA and supplied, installed and supported across India by Magnum Resources.
About this machine
What the PS400 does
The Miller Weldmaster PS400 is a bag closing machine that seals filled bags by hot air welding. It folds the open top and fuses it into a pinch or double-fold seal at up to 35 bags a minute, with a seal 25 to 64 mm wide and a heat source reaching 788°C. It is servo controlled, so it synchronises with the converting line, and a recipe system recalls the fold and seal settings for each bag type.
You will see this machine listed under a handful of names. Searches for a bag closing machine or an industrial bag sealing machine point to the PS400, as do woven sack closing machine, PP bag closing machine, bag top sealing machine and automatic bag closer. Whichever phrase you used, the PS400 is the machine behind it.
Built for high-throughput packing lines
The PS400 is for plants that fill and close bags in volume: cement and building-material baggers, fertiliser, seed and agro packers, food, grain, flour and sugar packers, and chemical and powder packaging lines. It is an inline machine, not a hand-held sealer, so it fits into a new or existing packaging line and keeps pace with the filler ahead of it. A precision folding system gives clean, straight folds, and a quick-change folding system lets you switch bag size and fold type without a long setup.
It runs from a three-phase supply at about 9 kW. Digital control means a quick production start-up, and the recipe management system makes changing between batches a matter of recalling a saved setting rather than redialling the line by hand.
Welded bag closing vs stitched and glued closing
A stitched bag top relies on thread and leaves a line of needle holes, and for fine products that is a real problem: cement, flour and fertiliser sift out through the holes, and broken needles or loose thread can contaminate food. Glue and hot-melt closing adds a consumable and a mess. The PS400 welds the bag shut with heat, so the seal is closed all the way across with no holes, no thread and no glue. The result is a cleaner, tamper-evident seal and a lower running cost.
- No sift-through: a welded seal has no needle holes, so fine powder stays in the bag.
- Food-safe: no thread or broken needles to contaminate the product.
- Lower running cost: no thread, needles, glue or hot melt to buy and reload.
- Inline speed: up to 35 bags a minute, servo-synced to the converting line.
- Quick changeover: recipe recall and a quick-change fold system between bag types.
Industries that use the PS400
Any plant that closes filled bags in volume is a fit. Miller Weldmaster builds the PS400 for packaging lines across:
- Cement and building materials: cement, plaster, tile adhesive and dry-mix bags.
- Fertiliser and agriculture: fertiliser, seed, feed and agro-input bags.
- Food and milling: grain, flour, rice, sugar and pet-food bags.
- Chemicals and minerals: powders, granules and mineral packing.
- Woven sack converters: PP and HDPE woven sack lines.
- Contract packing: third-party and co-packing operations.
Why source the PS400 through Magnum Resources
Magnum Resources is the authorised India partner for Miller Weldmaster, the US fabric and packaging welding specialist. A bag closer has to fit the fill line it sits on, so we work out the fold type, seal width and line speed with the factory before you commit. We bring it in, clear customs, fit it to your packaging line and train your team. Folding and heat-seal parts then come back to us rather than an overseas desk.
If you are sizing up a bag closing machine or an industrial bag sealer for a cement, fertiliser, food or chemical line in India, talk to our engineers about your bag type, fill rate and line layout. We will send back honest specs, a realistic lead time and a quotation matched to your line.
Who the PS400 is built for in India
A high-speed bag closer for packing lines that fill woven, paper or poly bags, whether you bag cement, fertiliser, food grain or chemicals. Find where you fit below.
Cement & Building-Material Bagging
Close cement, plaster and dry-mix bags with a dust-tight welded seal, so fine powder does not sift out through stitch holes.
Fertiliser, Seed & Agro Packing
Seal fertiliser, seed and feed bags inline at up to 35 a minute, with no thread or glue to reload.
Food, Grain, Flour & Sugar Packers
Close grain, flour, rice and sugar bags with a clean welded seal, with no needles or thread to contaminate food.
Chemical & Powder Packaging Lines
Seal powder, granule and mineral bags tight and tamper-evident, servo-synced to your converting line.

Bags Closed
It closes up to 35 bags a minute and syncs to your converting line with servo control, built to run inline rather than as a manual sewing head at the end of the line.
No Needle Holes
A welded seal closes the bag with no stitch holes, so fine product like cement, flour and fertiliser does not sift out, and there is no thread to break or contaminate food.
Thread, Glue Or Hot Melt
It seals with heat alone, so you drop the running cost of thread, needles, glue and hot melt, and the downtime that comes with thread breaks and needle changes.

It suits plants that fill and close bags in volume: cement and building-material baggers, fertiliser, seed and agro packers, food, grain, flour and sugar packers, and chemical and powder packaging lines. It is an inline machine that fits a packaging line, not a hand-held sealer.
It folds the open top of a filled bag and hot air welds it into a pinch or double-fold seal, at up to 35 bags a minute with a seal 25 to 64 mm wide. There is no thread, needles, glue or hot melt involved.
A stitched bag leaves a line of needle holes, so fine products like cement, flour and fertiliser sift out, and broken needles or loose thread can contaminate food. A welded seal closes the bag all the way across with no holes and no thread, which is cleaner, tamper-evident and lower in running cost.
It closes woven PP and HDPE sacks, paper and poly bags used for cement, fertiliser, food grain, flour, sugar, chemicals and similar dry products. We confirm the fold type and seal for your specific bag with the factory.
Yes. The PS400 is servo controlled to synchronise with the converting line and can be customised to fit a new or existing line. We work out the integration with the factory so it sits correctly after your filler.
It runs on 230V three-phase at 40A or 480V three-phase at 25A, draws about 9 kW, and needs compressed air at 20 cfm and 90 psi. We confirm the right configuration for your site.
Price depends on the fold and seal configuration and line integration, so we quote each project individually. Typical lead time is around 12 to 16 weeks including manufacture, freight and customs, after which Magnum coordinates installation and operator training in India.
Magnum is the authorised India partner for Miller Weldmaster. We source the machine from the factory, manage freight and customs, coordinate installation and start-up with OEM-backed engineers, fit it to your line, train your operators, and supply genuine folding and heat-seal wear parts to order.
