ARC & ARC-MATIC Vision Cutting System
Official manufacturer page: fkgroup.com
Place and cut pattern pieces on the real fabric, not a simulation, using optical vision up to 50x magnification to match stripes, plaids and fibre direction before the knife moves. The ARC and ARC-MATIC is an Italian-built vision system from FK Group, supplied, installed and supported across India by Magnum.
About this machine
What the ARC and ARC-MATIC vision system does
The ARC and ARC-MATIC is an optical vision and placement system for cutting rooms. Rather than nesting pieces against a simulated rectangle, it works on the real fabric: a camera shows the actual material on screen with optical vision up to 50x magnification, and pieces are placed on what is really there. The "OV" optical vision reads the fabric, "D4C" links the system to DASforCut software, "AM&D" handles automatic placement with shape adjustment, and "AE" Artistic Entanglement links pieces to fabric designs such as stripes, plaids and directional motifs.
Because placement happens on the genuine fabric before the knife moves, the system reduces placement and cutting time and improves how parts line up at assembly. The placement data you build can be reused and exported as HPGL, DXF or ISO, and the system accepts CAD files from various sources.
ARC and ARC-MATIC: two ways to place on real fabric
The two versions share the same optical vision and differ in how pieces are placed. With ARC, the operator positions pieces manually on the fabric through a monitor, then cuts immediately. The software adds internal contours, notches and reference points to each piece. With ARC-MATIC, artificial intelligence places pieces automatically and adjusts their shapes to compensate for fabric defects, so operator input is limited to loading and unloading.
Both versions run offline. No cloud sharing or remote access is needed, which keeps your pattern and fabric data inside the cutting room.
Where vision placement earns its keep
Placing on the real fabric matters most when the material is not uniform. The system suits irregular and defective fabrics, striped and plaid fabrics that must be matched across seams, composite materials that need fibre-direction control, technical textiles, fabrics of varied height and small intricate pieces that are hard to place by eye. In these cases automatic placement can cut placement time by up to 70% compared with traditional methods.
- Real fabric, not a simulation: pieces are placed on the actual material shown on screen.
- Pattern matching: Artistic Entanglement links pieces to stripes, plaids and directional motifs.
- Defect-aware placement: ARC-MATIC adjusts shapes to compensate for fabric imperfections.
- Fibre-direction control: composite parts are placed to respect the direction of the weave.
- Reusable data: placement data is reusable and exports as HPGL, DXF or ISO.
Industries that use the vision system
FK Group lists the ARC and ARC-MATIC across many sectors where placement accuracy on real fabric pays off:
- Fashion and clothing: matched stripes, plaids and directional prints across a garment.
- Composites and technical textiles: fibre-direction control for structural parts.
- Home textiles: pattern matching across panels and repeats.
- Aeronautical and aerospace: placement on high-specification reinforcement material.
- Automotive: interior and trim pieces placed to a consistent pattern.
- Medical non-woven, nautical and fashion accessories: accurate placement of small or specialist pieces.
Why source the vision system through Magnum
Magnum is the authorised India distributor for FK Group, whose Italian factory has built cutting-room technology since 1961. We work with the factory to confirm that ARC or ARC-MATIC fits your fabrics, your CAD workflow and your existing cutter before anything is ordered. We then handle the import and customs, set up and calibrate the system on site, and train your operators on DASforCut. The system is licensed either as a perpetual licence or on a lease, and we will explain which suits your plant.
If you are evaluating an optical vision placement system for matched-pattern fashion, composites, home textiles or a defect-aware cutting room in India, talk to our engineers about your materials, your CAD files and how you cut today. We will give you accurate information, an honest lead time and a configured quotation.

Less Placement Time
Automatic placement on ARC-MATIC can cut placement time by up to 70% against traditional methods, because pieces are positioned on the real fabric instead of being nested by hand.
Material Yield
Placing on the genuine fabric and adjusting shapes around imperfections lets you work irregular and defective material that would otherwise be set aside, so more of each roll is usable.
Pattern-Match Accuracy
Optical vision up to 50x magnification with Artistic Entanglement lines up stripes, plaids and fibre direction on the real material, so parts match at assembly.
