About this machine

What the Feeding Cradle does

The Feeding Cradle is a tension-free fabric feeding system that sits ahead of a cutting machine and advances material to it without putting tension on the fabric. The roll is held in a cradle, and the system feeds fabric forward in step with the cutter so the material reaches the cutting area flat and relaxed. Feed speed is digitally adjustable from 0 to 85 m/min, with controlled acceleration and deceleration, and working widths cover 180, 200 and 220 cm.

Feeding fabric under tension distorts the weave and shifts the cut, which shows up most on stretch and technical materials. The Feeding Cradle handles a wide range of materials on one machine, including Lycra, denim, carbon fibre and Kevlar, so the same feeder serves an apparel cutting room and a composites shop.

How it keeps the feed tension-free

The system manages fabric tension automatically, with three ways to read the feed: a tension detection bar, an electronic signal, or encoder synchronisation with the cutting machine. Selvage alignment is handled by infrared so the fabric edge stays true, and an automatic end-of-fabric stop halts the feed when the roll runs out. Every automated function has a manual override, so the operator can step in when a job needs it.

Main drive is by brushless or variable-speed motors, which give smooth speed control across the full 0 to 85 m/min range. The roll cradle takes a 50 cm diameter roll as standard and up to 100 cm as an option, with a maximum roll weight of 100 kg, so it suits both short sampling runs and full production rolls.

Where the Feeding Cradle fits in the cutting room

The Feeding Cradle is a feeding stage, not a cutter or a spreader. It feeds fabric into a cutting machine so the cutter works from relaxed, correctly aligned material rather than a roll under strain. That matters most where the material is expensive, stretchy or directional, and where a distorted feed wastes both fabric and machine time.

  • Tension-free feed: advances fabric without pulling, so the weave stays true to the cut.
  • Wide material range: handles Lycra, denim, carbon fibre and Kevlar on one machine.
  • Digital speed control: 0 to 85 m/min with acceleration and deceleration control.
  • Automatic alignment: infrared selvage alignment keeps the fabric edge straight.
  • Unattended safety: automatic end-of-fabric stop, with manual override on every function.

Industries that use the Feeding Cradle

One feeder serves almost any plant that cuts fabric from a roll and needs the material to reach the cutter undistorted. FK Group lists the Feeding Cradle across:

  • Apparel and clothing: stretch fabrics such as Lycra and denim fed tension-free to the cutting table.
  • Technical textiles: industrial and performance fabrics that distort under feed tension.
  • Composites: carbon fibre and reinforcement fabric kept flat and aligned for accurate cutting.
  • Automotive and aerospace: high-spec material such as Kevlar fed without distortion.
  • Medical non-woven fabrics: non-woven material fed evenly to the cutting area.
  • Furnishings: upholstery and home-textile fabric fed in step with the cutter.

Why source the Feeding Cradle through Magnum

Magnum is the authorised India distributor for FK Group, whose Italian factory has built cutting-room machinery since 1961. We size the working width and roll capacity with the factory before anything is ordered, based on your materials and the cutting machine it feeds. We then handle the import and customs, install the system, and train your team on the feed modes. When you need spares or service later, you call us, not an overseas help desk.

If you are evaluating a tension-free fabric feeding system for an apparel, technical-textile, composites or automotive operation in India, talk to our engineers about your materials, roll sizes and cutting machine. We will give you accurate specs, an honest lead time and a configured quotation.

What this machine saves you

The numbers Indian manufacturers use to justify the CAPEX internally.

Up to 85m/min

Digitally Set Feed Speed

Feed speed runs from 0 to 85 m/min with acceleration and deceleration control, so the feeder keeps step with the cutting machine across both sampling runs and full production.

Zero

Feed Tension On The Fabric

The system advances fabric without pulling on it, so the weave stays true and the cut holds its shape, even on stretch and technical materials that distort under tension.

Up to 100kg

Roll Loaded On One Cradle

The cradle takes a 50 cm roll as standard and up to 100 cm as an option, to a maximum 100 kg, so full production rolls load without splitting the run.

FAQs

Questions Indian buyers ask us

Common questions Indian buyers ask us, answered upfront.

It suits plants that cut fabric from a roll and need the material to reach the cutter without distortion: apparel cutting rooms running stretch fabric, technical-textile producers, composites shops cutting carbon fibre, and automotive or aerospace suppliers handling material such as Kevlar. It is a feeding stage that sits ahead of a cutting machine.

Feeding fabric under tension stretches and distorts the weave, which shifts the cut and shows up most on stretch and technical materials. The Feeding Cradle advances fabric to the cutter without pulling on it, so the material reaches the cutting area flat and relaxed and the cut stays accurate.

FK Group lists it for a wide material range on one machine, including Lycra, denim, carbon fibre and Kevlar, along with technical textiles, medical non-woven fabrics and furnishing material. The tension-free feed is what lets it cover both delicate stretch fabric and stiff technical material.

Working widths are 180, 200 and 220 cm. The roll cradle takes a 50 cm diameter roll as standard and up to 100 cm as an option, with a maximum roll weight of 100 kg. We size the right combination with the factory based on your materials and the cutting machine it feeds.

Feed speed is digitally adjustable from 0 to 85 m/min, with controlled acceleration and deceleration, driven by brushless or variable-speed motors. Selvage alignment is handled by infrared so the fabric edge stays straight, and there is an automatic end-of-fabric stop when the roll runs out.

It offers three feeding modes: a tension detection bar, an electronic signal, or encoder synchronisation with the cutting machine, so the feed keeps step with the cutter. Fabric tension is managed automatically, and every automated function has a manual override for the operator.

Price depends on the working width, roll capacity and feeding options, so we quote each project individually. Typical lead time is around 12 to 16 weeks including manufacture, sea freight and customs, after which Magnum coordinates installation and operator training in India.

Magnum is the authorised India distributor for FK Group. We source the machine from the factory, manage freight and customs, coordinate installation and start-up with OEM-backed engineers, train your operators on the feed modes, and supply genuine wear parts to order. You keep one point of contact throughout.
